DIVING FAMILY 1960
I was just an average kid
with average dreams; one day I wanted to be a baker, the next a butcher.
That was until around the time of the above photograph when Dad sent my sister
Glenda and myself on a DC3 aircraft
to Roebourne to stay with dear friends Graeme and Marion Williams.
When I returned to Perth
a few weeks later, I was obsessed about being a pilot. I still remember the
wheels
of the DC3 touching down at Perth Airport. I felt very sad because the flight
was over. I was 10 years old.

BOY SCOUT SWAN TIKI 1963
The Swan TIKI was part of my boy scout activities as patrol leader of Rosella Patrol at the Kalamunda Scout Troop.
Our rafts were all lashed together with rope. No metal fasteners including nails or screws of any kind were allowed.
